Fenerbahçe turn to Dirk Kuyt: Could the interim role become permanent?
Dirk Kuyt takes charge until Fenerbahçe select a new head coach. A three-game spell and the possibility of staying until the end of the season are attributed to his agent; neither amounts to a permanent appointment.
Dirk Kuyt has been given responsibility for Fenerbahçe’s first team following İsmail Kartal’s departure. The club’s announcement of 28 October places him in charge until a new head coach is selected. It sets no fixed deadline tied to the international break or the end of the season.

Where does the three-game expectation come from?
Fanatik, citing AD, reports that agent Rob Jansen expects Kuyt to lead the team for at least three matches. The prospect of a successful spell opening the door to a longer stay is presented as the agent’s assessment, rather than a permanent appointment approved by the board. The source report is linked in the Fanatik source box below.
The transition is already under way
The club’s training report on the same day says preparations for Göztepe continued under Kuyt. That establishes his immediate working role; it does not settle who will be the next permanent coach.
ForzaGolazo analysis
Results alone will not explain the transition. With limited preparation time, a coach’s immediate task includes making responsibilities after turnovers and recovery distances clear. Deciding which existing habits to retain may be more useful than attempting a complete tactical overhaul straight away.
Alongside points, the team’s collective movement, protection behind attacks and clarity of individual roles deserve attention. Those are our suggested ways to assess the football, not criteria announced by the board. Turning an interim assignment into a permanent role would require a separate club decision.
