Beşiktaş fans seek action beyond the club’s broadcaster statement
Beşiktaş’s criticism of derby coverage has prompted calls for subscription cancellations and concrete action in open supporter discussions.
Beşiktaş’s criticism of the broadcaster following the Galatasaray–Fenerbahçe derby has prompted demands for action beyond a public statement. In open discussions, some supporters advocate cancelling subscriptions, while others want the board to follow its objections with concrete steps. These views do not constitute a decision representing all supporters or an established mass boycott.

Equal treatment at the heart of the debate
In its statement on 27 October, Beşiktaş recalled the earlier disciplinary proceedings involving Dusan Vlahovic. The club argued that his action had been repeatedly shown from different angles, whereas the confrontation after the latest derby had not received the same broadcasting treatment. It requested complete camera footage and a TFF examination of the incidents.
Two approaches stand out in the comments: backing the club’s statement and demanding measurable follow-up. Open comments on Duhuliye repeatedly mention subscription cancellations, leaving the broadcasting pool and alternative coverage. These are users’ demands, not club decisions.
How will the response be assessed?
Supporter proposals alone cannot establish whether leaving the pool or creating an independent broadcast is feasible. Those options require legal, contractual and economic assessment.
The developments to follow are which footage is examined, how the objections are answered and the reasons given for disciplinary decisions.
