Those said to have submitted the complaint are Süleyman Abay, Cevdet Kömürcüoğlu, Kutluhan Bilgiç, Bahattin Şimşek, Emre Altun, Mustafa Sönmez and Taner Gizlenci. The complaint reportedly includes allegations of defamation, abuse of office and matters relating to the process by which referees were removed from their duties.

The date of the application and the prosecutor’s actions concerning the case could not be independently verified. The allegations must not be treated as a final court judgment.

ForzaGolazo analysis

Restoring trust in Turkish football requires attention to documents, the parties’ responses and official statements. A transparent process would provide a sound basis for assessing the discussion.
