Fenerbahçe calls for disciplinary action after Galatasaray derby incidents
Fenerbahçe wants a full examination of the post-derby incidents and disciplinary action against those found responsible.
Fenerbahçe issued a written statement on 27 October about the incidents on the pitch after the Galatasaray derby. The club said its players had faced verbal and physical attacks and called for the events to be examined fully.

The statement argued that the incidents could not be explained away as match tension. It asked for the actions of everyone involved to be assessed and for disciplinary sanctions to be applied without distinction to those responsible.
Two things need separating: the request for an investigation and sanctions is part of an official club statement. Its account of how the incidents began and who was responsible represents Fenerbahçe’s position, rather than an independently established finding. The statement is not a disciplinary ruling.
The issue now extends beyond the match itself to how footage and reports will be assessed. The club’s demand and any decision by the competent bodies must remain distinct.
