A request is not a selection decision

The report says any decision depends on the medical team’s assessment. A starting place, a place on the bench or a specific number of minutes cannot therefore be presented as confirmed.

Being ready matters

For me, wanting to play does not by itself demonstrate readiness for the pace of a derby. The player’s fitness and the coaching staff’s assessment matter alongside his desire. Until the official squad is announced, possible roles for Leão remain scenarios.
