Abdullah Avcı linked with Fenerbahçe: reported call, no contract terms discussed
Fanatik reports that Fenerbahçe officials spoke to Abdullah Avcı by phone and that Aziz Yıldırım views him favourably. The report says contract length and similar terms were not discussed.
Abdullah Avcı has been linked with Fenerbahçe’s search for a head coach. According to a report by Fanatik journalist Mesut Aydın Kale, club officials contacted the coach by telephone (rumour). The same report claims that Aziz Yıldırım is favourable to the Avcı option.

What the reported call does—and does not—establish
An important detail is that contract length and similar terms were reportedly not discussed. The contact described therefore does not establish that the parties have agreed a contract or that the club has settled on its next coach. The claims about Avcı’s candidacy and Yıldırım’s position come from Fanatik; they are not an appointment announcement.
Fanatik also suggests that questions concerning the length of a potential arrangement involving Vincenzo Montella helped bring Avcı into consideration. That remains part of the same report, rather than evidence of a completed choice between the two coaches.
Kuyt has the interim responsibility
Following İsmail Kartal’s departure, Dirk Kuyt will oversee the team’s preparations until a new head coach is selected. Anadolu Agency reported this temporary arrangement from a club statement. It should be distinguished from the reported contact with Avcı.
ForzaGolazo analysis
Fenerbahçe’s decision has implications beyond the name of the coach. A plan suited to the available players, a clear division of responsibilities within the staff and continuity during the transition will shape its impact on the pitch. These are our criteria for assessing the choice, not promises attributed to Avcı.
A reported call, contract negotiations and an official appointment are different stages. Without further confirmation, presenting an agreement as complete would go beyond what this report establishes.
